I came across a thread on a hunting board where a guy had shot a wolf and grilled it up and ate it.
He said it was very good, his friends like it too.
And there are a certain group of people in my area that shall remain unnamed that are known to eat dogs.
But as to why I'd eat a turkey, because it tastes good. I'll probably have leftover turkey for supper tonight.
If dogs tasted like turkey.
I saw that and also started thinking, I wonder how Rover tastes.
The only reason I haven't cooked up our cats, is because the husband won't let me. What can I say? I'm a dog person. Mmm...tempura beer battered kitty cat. Tasty.
And well - I like dogs more than most people.
When I graced the hallowed halls which you now grace, a Vietnam vet stated that if you wanted to go unnoticed in the jungles during your tour, you ate dog like the natives so you wouldn't smell any different. A now deceased cousin of mine claimed that the Japanese islands smell of fish and so do the Japanese people. The Japanese people claimed Westerners stank because they ate beef.
Hmmm.
God may not have intended us to eat meat in the Garden of Eden but since we were kicked out, there is a B vitamin that is essential for our nervous system that is found only in meat. "Go Vegan" is therefore synonymous with "take vitamins or you are missing essentials in your diet."
Looking at the picture--I only eat turkey breast meat and never the head or neck so I'm safe. Also, that doesn't look like my dog. However, my departed father used to opine: If you get hungry enough, you'll eat most anything.
Let's not get Marcy talking about eating cats again...
Catholic priest and blogger Father Z. had a story up about walking with a friend who told him that in his country, "yellow dog" was a healthful delicacy. The conversation continued and he forgot to ask what "yellow dog" was. They walked past someone walking a golden retriever and the friend said "mmmmmm, yellow dog."
Oh common, El_B. I failed to mention the number one reason, we should all indulge in cat - they're FREE. I see them roaming the 'hood all the time and people are always advertising free cats. With grocery prices rising, it seems like a no brainer...
