When I was a kid, the dinosaurs died out because mammals ate all of their eggs. A huge asteroid is a much cooler story.

I saw a story a few years ago that science had just proven that all the dinosaurs died from an asteroid strike, but not the previously announced asteroid strike. A completely different one. So there.
