Showing her Georgia Power bills in the one warm room of her home, Raymeica Kelly explains how her mother, sister and herself were turned away from the Energy Assistance Program on Wednesday morning after standing in line for four hours. All three complained that the system the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council uses to give out the assistance needs improving.
Apparently, the system that distributes big screen TVs and XBox 360s* works just fine. So that's good news, anyway.
* that being the 'capitalist' part of the economy.

And High def cable tv. Those analog signals suck on a big LCD tv.
You're blinded by your privilege. Why do you begrudge the poor their pleasure?!?! Next thing, you'll be posting about how poor people are fat.
Fat? I would never be so cruel.
I recognize that many poor people a) have a different time preference horizon, and b) have a different refrigeration preference, than I do.
Privileged people save money today so they can buy food in the future, But being a modern, tolerant brand of chap, I recognize and respect the poor's cultural preference for storing their food in a post-digested state.
So that's not fat, it's a savings account filled will all the things that will not need to be eaten in the future.
They should've held out for a PS3 with Move.
She has a space heater, right there in the lower right hand corner right beneath the xBox 360.
If she's not careful, she'll burn the xBox right up...
Then she'll have to get another one, and someone will have to cover her food bills while she is paying for it.
Just like to point out, that in a place like Atlanta, the cost of that TV alone would be enough to heat her whole house all winter long.

Chuck Norris turned time, and by extension, the internet back to this post!
While it is a Well-Known Fact(tm) that a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick is sufficient to knock someone into next week, slightly less well-known is that if he kicks you with his left boot, it will knock you into last week.
Actually, I was just doing a little housecleaning. Sorry for the confusion.
