So Friday night in St. Cloud, brother Dave and I spent 3 hours listening to 80s radio, reminiscing about the good songs, mocking the bad ones, naming them and their artists all. Men, whether at work or without hats, went down without a fight. Sheena E, Janet Jackson, they were no match. The Beastie Boys could not frighten us, nor could Thomas Dolby blind us with science. Then a new challenger arose...
It was a song from Beverly Hills Cop, and the heat was on. We rifled frantically through our mental files, we visualized our album covers, all to no avail. Desperation set in, then despondence. Finally with 10 seconds left, Dave nailed it. Glen Frey, you insufferable punk, you three-hit wonder, we got you. WE GOT YOU!
The scam collapses

I would hardly call Glenn Frey a 3 hit wonder
i think El-Bo has forgotten that Glenn is a member of the Eagles....
Let me guess, you guys used to stand in the bleachers at little league games and politely inform the chanting crowd that the pitcher does really not have a rubber arm?
I thought the theme to the movie was Axel F by Harold Faltermeyer.
Emawkc: you are correct, but it was not "the theme*," just one of the songs. If I recall correctly, "The Heat is On" is both the first song on the album and the first song in the movie.
* which theme is, most probably, why Dave and I both own copies of the soundtrack.
The 80's on XM is great for that game. I play it via text with friends on my trips back and forth from Arkabilly to Kansas.
Glenn Frey also wrote "Smuggler's Blue's" for a little known television show in the 80's called "Miami Vice." I BELIEVE that "The Nuge" (praise be he) was the star of said episode with Uma Thurman.
Or it could of been the Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" song...I forget which one.
