Lions are cats, and cats are pets.

What? You didn't know that nature is populated only by various subspecies of the bunny genre?

I'm sorry, El_B! For what it's worth, I feel bad posting dirty comments on your blog. I couldn't resist. I started posting an innocent response about how I'd probably enjoy eating kitty, if no one told me what it was...then, I realized it could be interpreted differently than intended.

That's why we put that big black "R" on the front page, sweetie.

But I have to admit, I didn't realize you were so open to culinary experimentation. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. ;)

My father has actually eaten lion before. Wasn't very taken with it as I recall. Which is generally why you want to eat prey animals and not the predators.

Ah, yes. All those people in the country of Africa have the same culture, beliefs, values and cuisine. I know because of that one African guy at my church.

I have read an article wherein a man tried to eat every critter on the face of the earth, to find what was best. He decided that the best meat there is to eat is Mountain Lion. If you want to know what it tastes like, a house cat is close.

I have a coworker that has expressed a desire to sample a skunk.

My father in law saw a show where a man eats nothing but roadkill. Which there is nothing wrong with, but I recommend much fresher fare than he was eating.

Several years ago, a man went on safari in Africa without his family and vanished into thin air. The authorities found nothing but his land rover and his video camera which they returned to the family. After the memorial service, the family sat down to watch his safari video as a last tribute. He pulled up on this pride of lions, sat the video camera on the hood of the land rover....and the family then learned what happened to him.

Moral of the story--don't take animal rightists too seriously. They have no clue.

Also don't let the kiddies watch an unedited version of your vacation vids.
