Better gardening through fear

I mentioned before a 4' cherry tree that I thought I killed by dragging my van over it with a bobcat. I had knocked it completely over, but the muck that necessitated me dragging my van thru the back yard also resulted in very little tree damage, I guess. I just tipped it back up and stomped it back into the mud, though I thought about just yanking it out since it hadn't produced a single cherry and hadn't even grown much since we had planted it 4 years prior.

That would have proved a poor decision. The tree is now about 8' tall, and yesterday I picked more than a gallon of cherries from it, with plenty left on it for another round once they ripen.

And sometimes if I'm in the back yard, it quivers even if there's no wind. I think it's just very afraid the bobcat is coming back.
